Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems (SCR Systems) have been specifically designed as a result of changing legislation to operate within diesel engines. They have been designed to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions and AdBlue® (diesel exhaust fluid) is used as a reducing agent within this system.
An SCR system converts NOx (nitrogen oxides) in nitrogen and water (commonly found in the environment) and in doing so, it acts as an advanced active emissions control technology. The SCR system works by injecting a liquid reducing agent (AdBlue®) through a specialist catalyst into the exhaust stream of a diesel engine.
SCR technology has been designed to allow nitrogen oxide reduction reactions to take place in an oxidising atmosphere. In layman’s terms this means that when the exhaust fumes leave the engine of a diesel vehicle, they pass through a diesel filter, trapping the diesel particles. As these fumes pass through, AdBlue® is injected into the exhaust and this sets off a chemical reaction, known as 'reduction'. The AdBlue® acting as the reducing agent reacts with the nitrogen oxides, converting the pollutants into nitrogen, water and tiny amounts of CO2 - all of which are natural elements commonly found in the air we breathe every day. The AdBlue® can be rapidly broken down producing the oxidising ammonia in the exhaust stream. SCR technology alone can achieve NOx reductions of up to 90%.
Our production is based on unique, certified production standards and protocols. Each primary task of which is to manufacture the one and only product – the highest quality AdBlue®. AdBlue® products are made in batches up to 220,000 litres. Each batch goes through several tests based on their physical properties and is tested by high precision laboratory equipment.
A sample is taken from each ready made batch of AdBlue® and it is stored in a low light room under specific temperature conditions in order not to affect the physical properties of the product for two years from the moment of its production. That allows CrossChem to access its previously made products at any time. All samples are sent to the laboratories in Germany for analysis, which provides both the client and CrossChem, with the necessary facts about the outstanding properties of CrossChem’s products.
Machinery and production stages are traced and documented. Maintenance and checks are undertaken by specialist trades and highly trained employees.
Product batches are tested and certified and backed with a NATA approved quality certificate.
Our manufacturing facilities are equipped with the highest quality device installations which enable us to monitor, test and track production stages of all products.
